Martin is a hands-on finance executive with a strong operational background. He has more than 36 years of experience in all aspects of business operations, and across multiple industries and market sectors.

A UK chartered accountant, Martin spent 8 years with Touche Ross in the UK and Coopers and Lybrand in Hong Kong. This has been followed by more than 28 years in the private sector throughout Asia but primarily based out of Hong Kong.

He has guided and advised numerous businesses during periods of both rapid growth and restructuring. These include companies of various sizes, and in a number of different industries.

He has sat on the Board as a Non-Executive Director and was Chairman of the Audit Committee of a Hong Kong listed company for almost 10 years.

Throughout his career Martin has been instrumental in several fund raises for the companies in which he has been involved. These ranged from relatively straight forward private equity raises, to complex convertible and secured bond structures, to project specific joint ventures.

Most recently prior to starting Shetland Capital Partners, Martin as Chief Financial Officer, led a pan-Asian consumer entertainments and hospitality company through a primary listing on the Australian Stock Exchange
